Who We Are

Nancy Watterson

Nancy Watterson teaches the Elective Senior Seminar: Faith and Justice. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania’s Department of Folklore and Folklife. She is an Assistant Professor of Social Justice and American Studies in the Department of History & Political Science at Cabrini College.  She also serves as Faculty Director for the “Voices of Justice” Living and Learning Community. This diverse group of twenty-one students lives together, shares thematically integrated courses across the disciplines, and participates in immersion experiences around issues of social justice.  At Cabrini, she is part of an inter-faith dialogue group that meets weekly. Watterson also teaches graduate seminars at the University of Pennsylvania for the Master of Liberal Arts Program. Before joining Cabrini College she taught for five years each at Princeton University and Harvard university in their respective Writing Programs. Watterson was born in Kentwood, Michigan, and was an active member of Central Reformed Church in Grand Rapids: singing in choirs, attending youth groups, playing in the hand-bell choir. In Philadelphia, she participates regularly in a Spiritual Companionship group at Old First Reformed Church.
