Application Process

  • All students must be approved by Alma College to study off campus. Visit the Academic and Career Planning office to begin the Off-Campus Study Registration.  For additional information students may also contact .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address), Communication Department
  • Follow Alma’s registration process which includes completing the Philadelphia Center application in Step 4.
  • After being approved to study off-campus you will complete the Philadelphia Center application.  Do NOT submit an application directly to the Philadelphia Center BEFORE this meeting.
  • All original application documents must be submitted to the Academic and Career Planning office to be mailed on your behalf.  Do NOT submit the application supporting documents directly to the Philadelphia Center.

Deadlines

  • Fall semester in Philadelphia deadline is end of spring term
  • Spring semester in Philadelphia deadline is end of fall term
  • Summer semester in Philadelphia deadline is end of fall term
  • Philadelphia Center applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Please allow two weeks for processing of completed application once it has been received at the Philadelphia Center.

As one of the nation’s oldest experiential education programs, The Philadelphia Center (TPC) offers a dynamic and valuable off-campus experience. Since 1967, TPC has helped more than 6,800 students from over 90 colleges and 50 countries discover their personal and professional direction in life through our 16 week semester program offered in both the fall and spring as well as our 8 week summer program. Students earn academic credit while interning 32 hours/week, taking seminars, and living independently.
