Introduction: Since 1967, TPC has helped more than 1,400 Hope students (6,700 overall) discover their personal and professional direction in life through our 16 week semester program offered in both the fall and spring as well as our 8 week summer program. Students earn academic credit while interning 32 hours/week, taking seminars, and living independently. With more than 800 placements, we offer substantial internship options for almost any major.
Hope student Brooke McDonald attended TPC’s Fall 2011 semester program. “The slogan for The Philadelphia Center is “Discover Your Direction In Life.” It’s a brilliant marketing strategy. During my semester in Philadelphia I discovered that I really like journalism. I like the autonomy of a reporter – interviewing, researching, writing. My responsibilities as an intern reporter have been smaller-scale than those of a true reporter, but I’ve really enjoyed the chance to write my own articles about various topics.
