Experience Life: Education at Work

Overview

At The Philadelphia Center, you will work 32 hours per week at an internship you choose upon arriving in Philadelphia. You will receive eight academic credits from Hope College, our managing institution, for your internship.

Our comprehensive Placement Process distinguishes The Philadelphia Center from other internship programs. You will not be pre-placed in your internship because we believe you should have the freedom to tailor your internship to your interests and needs.

While working closely with your faculty advisor and the placement director, you will identify several job options that feel right for you. Our database contains more than 800 possibilities for you to choose from, and we are constantly developing new placement opportunities to respond to student interests. Researching internship opportunities and interviewing with at least three organizations for positions that fit your professional goals and personal needs are important parts of your experience at The Philadelphia Center.

We encourage you to arrive in Philly with an open mind and a willingness to explore different options. We will ensure that you find a meaningful internship that will help you find your professional direction in life and make connections for the future.
