Research Fellowships in the Liberal Arts

The Philadelphia Center offers tuition remission for one semester for up to three eligible undergraduate GLCA students interested in working with one of our three institutional partners: Independence National Historical Park, Rosenbach Museum and Library, and the American Philosophical Society Museum.
Who is eligible to apply for the fellowship? Only students who are currently enrolled full-time at one of the Great Lakes Colleges Association schools may apply.
Is application to the fellowship restricted to certain majors? Yes, only students with majors relevant to the work of the partnering institutions may apply.
How many fellowships are awarded each semester? TPC will award up to one fellowship at each partnering institution per calendar year.
Independence National Historical Park Fellows
Will work closely with the Park’s curators, architects, archaeologists, and historians to study historical topics related to the Park’s mission of interpreting the founding of the American republic.
Rosenbach Museum Fellows
Will work with the librarian and collections staff and have the rare opportunity to handle original manuscripts and letters, write research bibliographies, and collaborate with scholars on the collections of important writers.
American Philosophical Society Museum Fellows
Will have the dynamic opportunity to meet leading scientists and humanists, perform curatorial research, act as museum docents, develop public programming, and learn about all APS Museum exhibits.
